Crunching goals and crunching numbers is what 2019 is all about!
As a mathematician, crunching numbers is my day to day. But this year, 2019, is the year I smash my goals and GET. THIS. BREAD. I thought I’d share some of my resolutions + goals I have for this coming year and my whole life really.
- SAVE SAVE SAVE! If you know me you’ll know I’m the absolute worst when it comes to saving. Always buying extravagant things I don’t need, taxis everywhere, and tbh it’s a waste. This year I want to stop wasting money and save! Save to go on holiday, save for the future and save myself from the despair of being broke.
- Start my own business! This is a biggie for me and something I’ve always wanted to do. My ideas are all in the pipeline and I just need to get some real life products going and then get selling. All will become apparent in the near future. Trust the process gals!
- Get back to the gym! Going to the gym has always been something I’ve loved. Getting fit, feeling so much better in general and getting a good pump from a hard workout is what keeps me feeling alive! Recently, with being absolutely bombarded with uni work and working my job, I’ve found it incredibly difficult to find the time to get to the gym. So of course I have that typical fitness goal for myself (as everyone does in the new year)
- Crunch those NUMBERS! By this I mean absolutely smash uni. I’ve worked so incredibly hard in my first semester of 3rd year that I just need to keep the ball rolling. It’s a lot harder than it sounds because lemme tell you, doing maths every single day does fry your brain. All I could think about for weeks was the divergence and Stokes theorem and analysis – that shit still haunts me.
- TRAVEL absolutely anywhere and everywhere I can. It’s a bitty difficult to do the amount of travelling I’d ideally like to when I’m always in uni. Finding the time to travel or even work to earn the money to go travelling (so this goal ties in with no 1) is a big problem so I’m gonna need to manage my time A LOT better. That said, I’ve already got my first holiday booked to go to London on the 6th and I am so so excited!! Defo hittin up that blog worthy Γ©lan cafe so expect some pics from that spot!
- Accept myself. This is actually the most important thing for me to do. On a serious note, I never ever talk about my mental health issues and a lot of people are often surprised that I suffer so badly from it. This year I am going to seek professional help and hopefully overcome the demons in my head. I won’t go into too much detail but this is massive for me and maybe something I will be more open to talk about in the future.
- Lastly, CHALLENGE MYSELF. Take myself out of my comfort zone. This last one probably ties in and encompasses all my other points. I’d definitely like to add another string to my bow and put myself out there and that all starts with a challenge. Whether I’m challenging myself to something new or take up a new hobby. Challenge myself to meet new people all around the world. Challenge myself to find a new job. I truly believe that to grow as a person you need to challenge yourself and take yourself out of your comfort zone – otherwise nothing will change and you’ll just be… well, the same.
This is just a small concise list of goals for this year (and for my whole life really). I set new goals continuously and a new year shouldn’t define you or be a mark for change. If you truly want to change then no matter what time of year it is you should go out and get it! Although I’m not a believer in New year’s resolutions it seems like a perfect time to lay out and speak into existence some of my goals.
Like, comment and follow my blog because ya gal is on her way up. LETS GET THIS BREAD TOGETHER. Every day is a new day and every day is a fresh start. What’s your current goals?
Omg these are amazing goals and are very similar to my goals too. Accepting yourself is such a hard one, especially with the world and society we live in today, but we can do this girl!!xx

Great list of goals and I wish you luck with them all but especially point 6 – our mental health is SO important. Kudos to you for studying maths at uni, I’m terrible with numbers. I like to think I’m better with words which bodes well for blogging ππ I’m sure you’ll do amazingly well with your 2019 goals, go for it girl!

I love all of these! Saving is a big one for me too. I spend so much money on food and uber’s. I’m trying this year to tie money with my fitness goals. The less I spend money on food outside, the more I have to prep my meals meaning I save money and eat way healthier. It’s working wel so far. I can’t believe you’re doing a maths degree and working. Props to you girl!! I wish you all the best and i’m sure you’re going to have an amazingly success business this year too β€
